Orientation Programme 2015 – 16

Orientation Programme 2015 – 16

“Once, Parents and Educators start loving the young unconditionally, punishments and rewards are not needed anymore. The young, then grow in and through freedom, to freedom and maturity.”

St. Antony’s Public School in collaboration with ST. Vincent Pallotti School organized a two days Orientation Programme for the teaching staff. It was conducted by the most efficient resource person Rev. Dr. Fr. Joe Arimpoor. The programme was intended to enhance the efficiency of the teachers. The main theme was to go beyond punishment and rewards to reason, love and God. The participants were motivated to move from a learned teacher to a ‘learning teacher’.

All discussed the new challenges in education today and how to make our schools a good school to a great school so that we can have a pastoral and incarnational approach. If only we acted on our insights the growth would take place.

A session on ‘A new pedagogy for our times’ was also conducted under which 9 principles were discussed. The resource person also threw light on multiple intelligence theory. In between the sessions few action songs were sung with action to keep all of us active and energetic. Over all the two days sessions striking the right key at the beginning of this academic year 2015 – 16. All are convinced that the present day education needs to be re-invented and all have to update ourselves to the new media.
