Diwali Celebration

Diwali is a festival of lights it is a symbol of eliminating the darkness, giving joy and peace to everyone in the form of light. On the 1st of November we celebrated Diwali in our school. This nature enkindles the spark in the minds of the students.

The program was started at 10:00am in the morning; students from class VI std to II PUC all the students had gathered in the school auditorium. The programme commenced by lighting of the lamp by The Correspondent Rev. Fr. Mariyappa, Our Principal Rev. Sis. Mariani Banu, Administrator Mr. George Timothy, Mrs. Jasintha Martis and Mr. Gowri Shankar.

After the lighting of the lamp the choir sang ‘Asthomasathgamaya Tamasomajothirgamaya’ the song of light and invoked the presences of God. And there were songs sung by the college students asking God the light of wisdom and a reading was taken from the Holy Scriptures which was about light. Special prayers were conducted for different and special intensions. Our correspondent addressed the gathering by giving a message on Jesus Christ as the light of the world. Followed by the Principal Rev. Sis. MarianiBanugave a message to the students and in her message she said that ‘Jesus Christ is the light of the world’ and He also has said that to us, ‘Be the light of the world’. When we light up the world there will be no darkness. Let us remember the children who are not having the chance to celebrate it in a grand manner, and share our things with them and reflected on the value of sharing.

Then the administrator addressed the students and told them the need to be environmental friendly by avoiding burning of crackers. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by a student from class 8th.
