About St. Antony’s Composite PU College

St. Antony’s Composite PU College (2009 - 2010)

Education is vital to the growth of an individual, a community and thereby a nation. Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the Arch Bishop of Bangalore recognized the need to start the PU College and English medium schools for the uplifement of children residing in T.C. Palya and neighboring towns.

The Archdiocesan Board of Education and Rev. Fr. Mariappa Gregory, then Parish Priest of St. Antony’s Church took the initiative as it was the felt need to start PU College to enable the students passing out of SSLC to pursue their education. Thus St. Antony’s Composite PU College came into existence in2009. Sr. Sagaya Mary, St. Anne’s Convent was the first Principal followed by Sr. Saroja Mary, Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyons, as Principal of St. Antony’s PU College and High School. Sr. Mariam Banu SJC and Sr. Lucy SJC continued as Principal in the following in the following years.

During the academic year 2009 – 10 the college functioned with two optional combinations: HEBA and HEPS with 39 students.

The academic year 2010 – 11 began with 58 new admissions. The first batch of II PUC students passing percentage was 82.

In the year 2011 – 12 there were 42 students. The academic year 2012 – 13 began with 60 new admissions. One of our students was a distinction scorer with 512 marks out of 625. During this year the college received permission to start Computer Science as one of the subjects in the Commerce Stream.

The academic year 2013 – 14 began with 61 students in I PU, There were 9 distinctions and the passing percentage was 83% two students scored 100/100 in Accountancy and Computer Science.
